35. Segment reporting
Operating segments
The Group has five reportable segments, as described below, which are the Group’s strategic business units. The strategic business units offer
different services in different locations, and are managed separately. For each of the strategic business units, the Group’s Board of Directors
reviews internal management reports on at least a quarterly basis.
The Group’s reportable segments comprise:
• Parkway Pantai
: Hospital operator and healthcare service provider in Asia
• Acibadem Holdings
: Hospital operator and healthcare service provider in CEEMENA and investment holding companies owning ASYH
• IMU Health
: Education service provider in Malaysia
• PLife REIT
: Real estate investment trust
• Others
: Includes the corporate office
Management monitors the operating results of each of its business units for the purpose of making decisions on resource allocation and
performance assessment. Performance is measured based on segment EBITDA.
Inter-segment pricing is determined on negotiated basis.
Segment results, assets and liabilities include items directly attributable to a segment as well as those that can be allocated on a reasonable
basis.
Geographical segment capital expenditure is the total costs incurred during the year to acquire property, plant and equipment, prepaid lease
payments, investment properties, and intangible assets.
